about me

Introduction

Poet, painter, programmer, and preacher's son from Nigeria. Using a combination of traditional and non-traditional mediums and techniques, I continue to find new ways to blend digital and traditional art techniques as tools to explore, express, and record my artistic ideas. My artistic journey has been one of continuous exploration and innovation, seeking to merge diverse mediums and methods to create compelling and thought-provoking art.

Artistic Journey

My artistic journey began in Nigeria, where my cultural heritage and personal experiences shaped my early influences. Relocating to the Netherlands offered me a unique perspective on identity, allowing me to view various elements—such as music, religion, traditions, fashion, rituals, ceremonies, and language—from a new vantage point. These elements are integral to how I perceive myself and serve as the foundation for my ideas, research, and inspiration. With a background in computer science, I have been able to integrate my technical skills into my artistic practice. This fusion of art and technology has opened up new possibilities, enabling me to create pieces that are both visually striking and conceptually rich. My work reflects an ongoing quest to push boundaries and explore new creative frontiers. Through this multidisciplinary approach, I navigate the complexities of identity and self, crafting a body of work that resonates with both personal and universal themes.

Themes

My work touches on a variety of themes, each deeply personal and universal:

  • Spirituality: Exploring the unseen and mystical aspects of existence and resonance with the divine.
  • Identity: Reflecting on the complexities of identity in a multicultural world.
  • Self: Delving into the internal landscapes of the mind and soul.
  • Society: Critiquing and reflecting on societal norms, structures, systems, and issues.
  • Music: Translating the rhythm, emotion, and culture around music into visual art.
  • Fashion: Merging art with fashion to create wearable expressions of creativity.

Statement of Purpose

To expand my practice, collaborate with other artists, and engage with the community. My goal is to create a dynamic environment where art, technology, and tradition converge.
